US stars are Valley bound

POP punk mega-stars Bowling For Soup have announced a gig in Holmfirth.

The American group, whose hits include ‘Girl All The Bad Guys Want’ and ‘High School Never Ends’, are coming to the Picturedrome on October 21 as part of their 15 date UK tour. Support bands are The Dollyrots and Patent Pending.

Picturedrome boss, Peter Carr, said he was delighted to get the high profile gig.

“We’re chuffed to bits that Live Nation are bringing Bowling For Soup to The Picturedrome,” he said.

“As time moves on we have to embark upon encouraging bands that are more up to date as we seem to be specialising in bands from the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s.

“Live Nation are the biggest promoter on the planet and picking our venue for part of this tour is a statement that what we do in Holmfirth, we do well.

“We have spent a small fortune on artist hospitality giving the artists and management a very laid back area which is out of the public domain, which they simply do not get anywhere else.

“After K T Tunstall played here, she put on her Twitter page, “best back stage award”, that was worth all our hard work for that simple statement.”

The Autumn gig will also feature a VIP experience with fans getting an exclusive acoustic performance by Bowling For Soup’s Jaret and Erik, a photo with all four members of the band and a signed poster. Tickets: www.bowlingforsoup.com or www.picturedrome.net
