HUDDERSFIELD vocalist, producer and promoter Pat Fulgoni has hit the charts on a top drum n bass album.

The Kava Kava frontman’s song Turn Up (the music) with Austrian production crew Camo & Krooked has been included on the album Hospitality: Drum and Bass 2010. The Hospital Records compilation went into the UK’s itunes album chart at No3 and has been getting airplay from BBC Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac, Fabio and Grooverider and Annie Nightingale.

SALENDINE Nook High School band Angels Playing Saints could be propelled from the school hall to the Leeds Festival tonight (6.30pm). The rock group have been selected for the final of the Centre Stage contest organised by Leeds children’s hospice Martin House. Tonight’s live final at Leeds O2 Academy will see 13 West Yorkshire groups battle for a coveted slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at both Leeds and Reading festivals. The gig will be judged by Embrace drummer Mike Heaton, Leeds Festival boss Melvin Benn, Pigeon Detectives road manager Justin Slee and Cockpit owner Colin Oliver. Drummer, Fraser Pickard, said: “We are more excited than nervous about playing. O2 will be the biggest venue we have ever played. It will be totally overwhelming playing the Leeds and Reading Festivals as we have only just left school! We have got tickets for the Leeds Festival so hopefully we will be selling those!” Tickets £5.

ALT-ROCK trio King Kananga will be showcasing some new songs in an acoustic set live on Two Valleys Radio tomorrow (July 20).
