SMUGGLER’S Cove returns from hiatus this month with its biggest names to date.

The Byram Arcade-based event will welcome rising London star Kieran Leonard. Leonard, inset, who supported the Libertines at their reunion concerts, was described by NME as ‘Looks like Kurt Cobain, Sounds Like Bob Dylan’. He will be supported by up and coming Leeds group, Ellen and the Escapades.

The gig is being curated by Jake Miller of Brighouse band Sons of Mischief.

Jake, who also runs a set design company, will be transforming the Blue Rooms cafe for the event, which will also raise money for charity.

He said: “I met him through a friend and I spoke to him about the music scene in and around Huddersfield and how it is really starting to blow up.

The May 19 show will also feature local artists Audit Control, Apache Tears and Dan Gallo as DJs for the night.

Doors 8pm. Money raised will go the artists chosen charity causes.
