TWO brass bands are in action next weekend with the shared aim of raising money to help the Mayor’s Charity.
This year, the Mayor of Kirklees Clr Julie Stewart-Turner has pledged to help Supporting People in Crisis in Kirklees – a partnership between the Mission cafe and the Welcome centre at Huddersfield Methodist Mission as well as Care Dewsbury and Daybreak Dewsbury.
All charities help homeless people find their feet by, for example, giving away food and hygiene packs.
First in action to help the Mayor’s Charity are Grange Moor Brass Band who promise rousing music in their concert at Dewsbury Minster on Friday (October 30).
The music begins at 7.30pm and proceeds from this concert will be shared with the Minster.
Tickets are £7 from D Yates on 01274 873412 or from Dewsbury Minster.
On the following night, October 31, this time at Huddersfield Town Hall, the music will be provided by the West Yorkshire Police Band.
They will play in a concert at 7.30pm with proceeds going to Supporting People In Crisis in Kirklees.
Tickets for the town hall concert are £10 from the town hall box office.
