THEY have been the musical stars of the year and tomorrow they will be singing on home ground.
It is just months since Lindley Junior School Choir was chosen as BBC Songs of Praise Junior School Choir of the Year and tomorrow, they will be at an event in Lindley which has been organised to celebrate the work of the Rev Rob Hilton.
The minister is moving on after 10 years of work at Lindley Methodist Church and tomorrow his congregation will be joining the choir and a number of other musical guests to say goodbye.
There will be a particularly emotional moment for the minister when the children from Lindley Infants School sing.
Rob had a close association with the Infant School, stepping in to help out when ill health meant that his then Church of England colleague was unable to work with the children.
Soprano Norma Walker will also be singing and Michael Senior will offer monologues as well as acting as the show’s compere.
A night of good music, good friendships and an emotional farewell to a much admired minister. Tickets are £5 and £2 from Mrs Pauline McNeil on 01484 537889.
