HUDDERSFIELD Choral Society has just announced that Brenda Mosley is its new vice-president.
Mrs Mosley is well known for her involvement with a number of local organisations and charities. She is delighted to be continuing the work begun by her husband, David who died in August this year.
Mrs Mosley said: “I am honoured to be able to continue the association with the Choral Society which started when my late husband was appointed vice-president in 2006.
“He really enjoyed his involvement with the running of the society and his sudden death last August robbed him of the opportunity of becoming president.
“I feel that I would like to continue the work that he started, and I am looking forward to helping the society develop its international reputation as the leading choral society in the UK.”
John Denham, the Choral’s current president, said: “We were all shocked and saddened by David Mosley’s illness and death. But we are very pleased that Brenda has agreed to take over as vice-president to continue the excellent work which David started.
“We look forward to Brenda becoming president for two years in July next year as we go forward towards our 175th season in 2010/11.”
The mixed voice choir has an international reputation and has over 200 members.
It is one of the few choirs in the country which is large enough to do full justice to the great choral works.
New members are always welcome and entry is by audition.
Rehearsals are held at Greenhead College every Friday from 7.30pm.
