A Kirkburton band have certainly proven that village life needn’t be dull, especially if you are armed with a guitar and some killer tunes.

And the acoustics of the surrounding valleys are definitely amplifying The Hollow’s talents, who formed just over one year ago after lead singer, Lucy Roberts, put out a request on Facebook. Several months of hard practice later and the group are now making a name for themselves in the acoustic and anti-folk scenes despite only being in their teens.

It’s part in thanks to the beltingly beautiful voice of lead singer, Lucy, who has the confidence of a performer twice her age.

She sings poetic songs about love and friendship with an infectious grin, which she fuses with covers of anti-folk scene veterans, such as Regina Spektor.

She is backed by band mates Jacob Rogers, Reece Hayden-Malpass and Joe Summers who joined the band when he went along with his neighbour, Jacob, to a rehearsal.
