WOODHOUSE Operatic Society’s musical director Caroline Robinson can't wait to get stuck into the society's new production of Footloose, which goes on stage at the Lawrence Batley Theatre next year.

Caroline has just finished with Longwood's production of Calamity Jane, and is already enthusing over Woodhouse’s next production. She went to Scunthorpe to get an early impression of a show taken from the film of the same name which made a household name of Kevin Bacon.

"It is a fantastic show, with some great principal parts, a good storyline and brilliant music, and I'm really looking forward to our production at Woodhouse,” said Caroline.

The show will be performed next March (16-20) on the LBT’s main stage.

But first the society needs to confirm its cast and auditions for principals are being held on Sunday week (October 25) at Milnsbridge Socialist Club.

Last Tuesday the society held its first rehearsal at its new headquarters, Legends night club (under the railway viaduct, behind Perry’s Garage). If you want to audition you can pick up material and further details at the next rehearsal which is on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Alternatively, further details can be obtained from casting committee chairman David Clegg, on 01484 549922.
