PADDOCK Orchestra’s next concert features a strong Russian theme.

The orchestra will play at Gledholt Methodist Church on March 17 at 7.30pm.

The programme it has chosen opens with the overture from Glinka’s opera, Ruslan and Ludmilla.

The musicians will also play Alexander Borodin’s In The Steppes of Central Asia as well as items from the composer’s Little Suite.

Another favourite, Mussorgsky’s Night On Bare Mountain opens the concert’s second half with the dramatic finale being provided by music from Tchaikovsky’s much-loved score for Sleeping Beauty.

The concert will be conducted by Barbara Bancroft. This long established orchestra performs at least three concerts a year and holds rehearsals on Monday evenings at Paddock Village Hall.
