AFTER a 10 year break, world fusion band Celtarabia is back playing live.

And the band aims to do a warm-up gig tonight at the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge.

The band was started by Quentin Budworth who with Amanda Lowe spent many years living in Lockwood from where they ran a company called Grinnigogs which specialised in medieval style entertainment.

The couple are now based in Arnold in the Midlands and are still running Grinnigogs.

But tonight, the focus will be on a very different style of acoustic dance music courtesy of Celtarabia.

Expect to hear East meet West, ancient meets modern in a spectacular musical mix that is sure to get you dancing.

The band plays a wide range of instruments from hurdy-gurdy, which is Quentin’s province, plus Hammer dulcimer (Amanda’s territory), vocals, cittern, bag-pipes, shawm, kit drums, bass, percussion and didjeridu.

They mix archaic melodies and global beats to create an exhilarating and unforgettable live show.

Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are £8 / £10 on: 01422 845 265. Details on www.celtarabia.com
