ROGER Davies is fast making a name for himself as one of today’s most entertaining acoustic folk singer-songwriters.

Don’t take our word for it. Look no further than his concert date at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in November.

This is on course for a sell-out, with little more than a handful of tickets still to be snapped up.

The Brighouse-based musician, a familiar figure on the region’s music scene will share the Cellar space at the LBT with his favourite new band, Midnight Special, an up-and-coming three-piece folk/blues band from Halifax, and young poet Peter MacMillan.

Roger has picked up the title The Voice of Calderdale and sell-out concerts are nothing new for a performer whose second album, and his live shows, have gone down well with local and national critics.

Roger’s gig is on November 1 and any tickets left will be at the box office on 01484 430528.
