The modern boutique-style store has a body and skincare bar, and store manager Samantha Staunton said it has been well received by customers.

She said: “The Body Shop has achieved so much in these last 40 years, from pioneering corporate social responsibility to trailblazing campaigns that have created positive change across the world.

“It really is a unique brand that evokes wonderful memories spanning four decades.”

The revamp has created two new full time jobs. The first 100 customers were given free goody bags worth over £25.
