ARTISTS exhibiting in the Art Market Showcase Exhibition in Huddersfield will be discussing their work in the town’s public art gallery at a series of talks in January.
Emily Stubbs kicks of this series at the gallery on January 3 at 1pm.
She will talk about the inspiration and influences behind her work and discuss how her ideas are developed through drawings, collage, cardboard models and finally, ceramic pieces.
On January 4, Priscilla Jones will share the unique techniques and processes she has developed over her 14 years as a textile practitioner.
She too will demonstrate the techniques she uses and this talk offers a rare insight into her quirky world of sculptural and stitched teacups and teapots.
James Oughtibridge is in the spotlight on January 5 and he will take his audience on a historical journey beginning with his first introduction to clay, through his time at the RCA and setting up a studio, all leading to a discussion about his current work.
The talk on January 6 is by Clare Lane who will discuss her work, from the initial photography right through to the final stitching involved in using textiles.
All talks are free of charge but must be pre-booked by emailing Victoria Robinson at firstname.lastname@example.org
