DALTON St Paul’s Church aims to help lift the economic gloom next week with a spirit-boosting show, Anything Goes.

What that title means is music from favourite shows and including, of course, Anything Goes.

There will be songs from Mary Poppins sung by the younger members of the church’s amateur dramatic society.

The adult members will perform songs from blockbusting musicals such as Me And My Girl, South Pacific, My Fair Lady and Carousel and the whole company will perform excerpts from Oliver.

There will be monologues, snippets from other popular songs and the recipe for a feel-good sort of show.

The producer is Judith Holden, Dorothy Newlove is the musical director and Jean Delaney is the pianist. The show runs on October 24 and 25 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children on 01484 532051.
