AT 80 and after a lifetime of painting, Peter Brook (pictured) has much to be proud of.

But his considerable artistic achievements haven’t stopped him from continuing to look to the future with a new show which runs at a gallery in Huddersfield until the end of October.

This latest exhibition, at A C Gallery in Byram Street, Huddersfield, includes a large selection of original paintings and signed prints by the Brighouse-based artist.

Peter had a career in teaching before quitting the profession when he was 50 to concentrate full-time on his art.

Painting continues to be his life and this is the third year in succession that the gallery has dedicated its entire space to Peter’s works. A similar exhibition last year saw 15 originals sold with one keen collector flying in from Abu Dhabi to buy an original for £8,500.

The Tate Gallery holds a collection of his winter scenes and chose one of them, Sheep Coming In With The Weather for its 2009 desk diary.

Peter Brook is also having a solo exhibition at the Harrison Lord gallery, Bradford Road, Brighouse.

Opening on Saturday, October 18, it features original paintings, prints, mugs and calendars.

The exhibition runs for four weeks.
