IF YOU have a youngster in the family who has a passion for acting then this could be their chance to shine.

Huddersfield-based Proper Job Theatre Company is searching for talented young performers for a new production of C S Lewis’s much loved story, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

The show will be at the Square Chapel in Halifax in the run up to Christmas. Now the search is on for youngsters aged between 8 and 18 who can’t wait to get out in front of an audience.

The show will run from Tuesday December 15 and Thursday December 24 and will offer young people a chance to work with a professional company.

The youngsters will be working alongside a professional cast from Proper Job and Square Chapel Director Sally Martin says: “This classic tale is full of magic and mystery and the youngsters will love being involved in Proper Job Theatre Company’s enchanting adaptation. This truly will be their chance to shine on stage this Christmas.”

The main parts of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy are available as well as parts in the chorus, which will include dwarves and wolves. There will be two sets of young performers sharing all the roles and performance dates will be split between the two groups.

If you are interested, or know a youngster who might be, then auditions are at the Square Chapel on September 20 between 10am and 5pm. Rehearsals will start at the end of October.

Anyone wishing to register for an audition can call Lauren Stead at Proper Job Theatre Company on 01484 514687.
