He's a master of crime fiction and his books have gained a raft of new fans thanks to the TV series based on his DCI Banks character.

Now you can hear about the latest Banks book from its author Peter Robinson who will be in Huddersfield next Thursday, that’s September 12.

Peter will be talk about his new book, Children of the Revolution, at Huddersfield Town Hall from 7.30pm.

It tells the story of the detective’s investigation into the death of a disgraced college lecturer who is found murdered with £5,000 in his pocket on a disused railway line near his home.

Peter’s DCI Banks is now a major ITV1 drama starring Stephen Tompkinson and Andrea Lowe.

Born in Yorkshire, Peter now splits his time between Richmond and Canada.

The critically acclaimed crime novelist has won numerous awards in Britain, the United States, Canada and Europe, and his books are published all over the world.

Peter’s recent stand-alone novel Before The Poison won the 2012 Arthur Ellis Award for Best Novel by the Crime Writers of Canada. This was Peter’s sixth Arthur Ellis award.
