Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield

Lawrence Batley Theatre, Queen Street, Huddersfield.

Offering drama, music, dance and comedy, the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Queen Street is housed in a impressive former Methodist chapel, build in 1819. It was named after Lawrence Batley, a local entrepreneur and philanthropist. Today, the theatre has two performance spaces, a theatre bar and courtyard coffee shop, and hosts art exhibitions.


Victoria Theatre, Halifax

Over in Halifax, the Victoria Theatre welcomes international performers to its stage, with opera, theatre, musicals, stand-up, live music and more. The theatre, in Fountain Street, also hosts an Easter pantomime and seats more than 1500 people in its grand main auditorium.


The Square Chapel for the Arts, Halifax

Offering live music, theatre, comedy, family shows, workshops, and cinema, the Square Chapel was bought in 1988 for just £25 and transformed into a centre for the arts. The Square Chapel, in Square Road, Halifax, hosts half-term fun for kids, film screenings, live classical, rock and pop music, folk weekends, stand-up and more.


The Alhambra, Bradford

Bradford's beautiful Alhambra Theatre celebrated its centenary in 2014, and continues to dazzle audience with its beautiful architecture and grand auditorium. The theatre has a main stage and also hosts stand-up and other shows in The Studio. The theatre is well-known for its annual pantomime, as well as hosting the biggest touring musicals, drama, ballet, opera, comedy and more, with dinner theatre shows also on the menu.


St George's Hall, Bradford

St George's Concert Hall in Bradford is the city's premier music venue, hosting internationally acclaimed artists and bands, fun tribute bands and more. The venue also welcomes comedians from across the UK, the grade II listed building is the oldest concert hall still in use in the United Kingdom, with a capacity of 3,500.


Leeds Grand Theatre

Tucked away in Upper Briggate, the Grand Theatre in Leeds first opened in 1878 and is the official home of Opera North. The theatre boasts a packed line up of musicals and drama direct from the West End, ballet, opera, live music and more, and is regularly visited by Northern Ballet. It was chosen as the venue for the world premiere of Gary Barlow's musical The Girls, based on the Calendar Girls story.


Leeds City Varieties

The City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds was first build in 1965, and the Grade II listed building reopened after an extensive refurbishment in September 2011, after closing for two years. The theatre was known as the venue for the BBC show The Good Old Days , and still presents 'Good Old Days' events, as well as its annual rock 'n' roll pantomime, stand-up and live music.


West Yorkshire Playhouse

West Yorkshire Playhouse offers two auditoria, an award-winning bar, a restaurant, the Newlyn Gallery, three rehearsal spaces, a recording studio ad technical workshops. The theatre boasts a varied programme of drama, musical, dance, comedy, special events and art. The theatre also offers workshops and does outreach work with the local community.
