IT SOUNDS like a stage manager’s nightmare?

A writer who puts in his script stage directions such as “crash of ornament”.

Well playwright and novelist Blake Morrison has done just that.

Seventy-six performances means 76 broken vases or ornaments for his latest play, We are Three Sisters which is being produced by Northern Broadsides. So that is where you come in.

If you happen to have a Victorian style ornament that is unwanted, unloved and not valuable then Northern Broadsides will happily put it out of its misery. It can go out in a blaze of glory under the bright lights of the stage! (Well, sort of candle lit lights of the stage in this case.)

We are Three Sisters opens at the Viaduct Theatre in Halifax on September 9 and arrives at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on November 2.

So hit the garage or the attic and see if you can come up with a smashing object.

The person who will take your unwanted treasures off your hands is Kay Burnett at Northern Broadsides on 01422 369704.
