THERE are auditions this weekend for what will be a milestone production for Penistone Centre Stage Musicals.
The group has chosen the musical favourite, Annie as its next production. The show will run at the Paramount in Penistone next March in what will be the society’s 90th year.
The group was formed in 1922 as Penistone and District Amateur Operatic Society.
Peter Foster will produce the show and auditions will begin on Sunday July 24 in St John’s Community Centre in Penistone at 10am.
Anyone who wants to audition for any of the principal roles should contact the group’s secretary on 01226 370121 to arrange a time and for copies of audition pieces.
New members are always welcome for chorus parts (auditions not required) or to help back stage.
Rehearsals for the show, which are held in St John’s Community Centre on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm, are expected to start on September 6.
