TWO teenage actors are wanted by Halifax Thespians to play in a new production this spring.
The show is David Haig’s My Boy Jack which in the film version starred Daniel Radcliffe, best known for playing Harry Potter.
One of the roles up for grabs is that of Jack and the other is that of his elder sister, Elsie.
The Halifax company is looking for teenagers aged between 16 and 21 to take on the two characters in a production which runs at Halifax Playhouse in May.
Open auditions will be held on Wednesday January 12 in the Playhouse bar at 7.30pm.
Rehearsals begin in mid-March and the production runs from May 10-14.
The play is set in World War One and tells the true story of how Rudyard Kipling used his influence to get his 17-year-old son Jack a commission with the Irish Guards despite his son’s poor eyesight.
Jack went missing in action during the Battle of Loos and his mother and father spent many years searching for him, a journey that was to involved many miles of soul-destroying discovery.
