A TRIBUTE concert for a top local musician missing is planned.

And it will include a series of music guaranteed to get you toe-tapping.

Normal Mellor and Richard Cook have organised the concert in tribute to missing walker Geoff Bottomley.

Mr Bottomley disappeared on June 14 last year while on a walking holiday in Wengen, Switzerland.

Since then, no trace of him has been found, despite extensive air and foot searches and poster campaigns by Swiss police.

Mr Bottomley was a talented accompanist and played the piano at countless charity events and was pianist for the group Reflections, with singers Mr Cook, Mr Mellor and Diane Robinson.

The singers will be joined by members of the Zoe Cook and Pam Strickland Theatre School, Zoe Barker and Neil Broadbent, Michael Hellawell, Bass Baritone, Gerry Wheatcroft, Bass Baritone, Laura Crowther soprano, Ellen Ball, Canon John Sykes, former vicar of Oldham, a walking companion of Geoff’s.

Wendy Smith, Doreen France and James Sykes. The pianists are, Margaret Dutton, Craig Ball, Gordon Balmforth and Philip Baxter.

It takes place at Moldgreen Reform Church, May 19 from 7.15pm.

Tickets cost £6. Proceeds will be donated to the Andrew Spencer Memorial Trust, set up in honour of talented actor, dancer and rugby player Andrew, 33, of Waterloo, who died in July 2008.

Tickets are available from Norman Mellor on Huddersfield 851060 or Richard Cook on 605633.
