IT WILL be a night of music, laughter and perhaps a few tears.
For many of the performers who will take part in a Night Of Remembrance at Birchencliffe tomorrow (October 10) will be sharing memories of two young people who loomed large in many people’s lives.
The show, at St Philip’s community centre, is to raise money for the Andrew Spencer Memorial Trust founded to celebrate the life of Andrew Spencer and for the Joseph Salmon Trust to remember the life of Brianna Jones.
Andrew and Brianna were talented dancers and both died suddenly at young ages. Both of them danced alongside Suzanne Louise Calvert and it is Suzanne who has produced tomorrow’s show.
Suzanne is the youngest daughter of Clr Jean Calvert, who was Mayor of Kirklees in 2007
The show is Suzanne’s very first production and she has enlisted friends that she has performed with over the years.
The dance group Fiasco Solderz with whom she has performed at various events within Kirklees including Huddersfield Carnival are the main artists. Many of the other performers are ‘old’ girls from the Audrey Spencer Dance School, run by Andrew’s aunt. Other dancers involved are from Suzanne’s time at Kirklees College and friends she has met at dance competitions.
The show is an all singing and dancing action packed evening that must not be missed and is being staged by talented young performers in aid of two of their friends.
There will be a raffle and a bar. Tickets are £5 which includes supper. Anyone wanting tickets please contact Cllr Calvert on 07528 988806.
The show starts at 7pm.
