HOLME Valley-based jazz ensemble the New Orleans Wiggle will be dashing up the A1 to North Yorkshire this weekend.

They will play a lunchtime session at Thornton Watlass near Bedale before heading home for their regular evening gig in Holmfirth.

The musicians will be at the Buck Inn from 12.30 to 3.30pm and are hoping that they have time to down a sandwich at least before driving back to play at the Old Bridge Hotel.

The 8pm slot is their regular monthly date at the hotel and a night not to be missed. On Sunday night they will be welcoming back exuberant double bass player Annie Hawkins.

Diary November 12, too, for that is when the New Orleans Wiggle play Rotherham Transport and Social Club.

For all three jobs, the band will feature the bluesy sound of Topsy Hilton.
