THREE weeks ago they were on stage at Glastonbury; now The Black Bloc will be headlining at Huddersfield’s Lawrence Batley Theatre.

Festival fever continues as Noisebox – The Big Gig 2008 gets ready to rock the LBT on Saturday, August 2.

Hebden Bridge four-piece The Black Bloc are buzzing from the festival circuit. As well as Glastonbury they played the Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham in late May.

Guitarist James Bush said: “Glastonbury was brilliant. It was a pleasure to play there. The tent was packed and the crowd were going mental all the way throughŠ our set.

“We got invited back next year straight after the gig, so we’re all looking forward to that already!ŠIt was a quality weekend, there was lots ofŠ good music and the atmosphere was amazing.”

Joining them on the billing for this second Noisebox event are Huddersfield’s Your New Antique, who return to the LBT after their performance at last year’s festival.

Completing the line-up are Holmfirth urbanites Northern Beats, Wakefield indie kids New Vinyl and Russian Dolls with retro blues rock.

Noisebox organiser Alex Krzesinski said: “The line-up of bands at this year festival is hot. With The Black Bloc’s recent successful appearance at Glastonbury, we’re all excited and there’s a great anticipation in the air as we all get geared up for a great night.

“All the bands are up for it and ready to rock the LBT.”
