Online retail giant Amazon has revealed its top toy predictions for the festive season.

Robots and tech toys feature heavily, but there's also an updated version of whipped cream game Pie Face, as well as an adorable chariot, that can only be described as fit for a princess.

Sriram Parthasarathy, Toys and Games Manager at Amazon.co.uk said of the list: “Unwrapping toys on Christmas morning is one of the lasting memories of the festive season for every generation,”

He added: "Some well-organised families are already planning what’s going to be under the tree this 25 December. Traditional and technological presents feature on this year’s wish list, combining coding, creativity and getting together as a family.”

1. Vtech Kidizoom Flix Playset £47.99 (RPP £59.99)

A friendly alien who can detect human faces, remember phrases and repeat what you say in a funny voice. It includes "Guard mode" where your alien can take secret photos or videos. 3. LEGO Boost Construction Toy £169.99

The LEGO Boost allows kids to build and code interactive, motorised robots and models with distance, colour and tilt sensor technologies.

4. Pie Face Sky High Game £29.63

The new version of the Pie Face game allows players to test their nerves, as they try to give their opponent a face full of whipped cream. The standing game is over three feet tall in height.

5. Little Tikes Princess Cozy Chariot £81 (RRP £109.99)

Your child can take the reins and drive themselves whilst the horse makes clopping sounds. It also features parent and child cup holders. Grown ups can also pull the reins or push from the roof handle.

6. Mattel Bloxels Game £39 (RRP £43.99)

Build your video games with a mix of physical and digital tools that include designs to help get you started creating your first game. The Boxes Builder app (not included) is free to download to your compatible device. Create game rooms, characters and game art using the game board and 320 blocks in eight different colours.

7. Paw Patrol "Sea Patroller" Playset £51.09 (RRP £69.99)

The Sea Patroller uses drop-down wheels to transform from ship to land vehicle. It comes with a moving crane and an attachable cage.

8. Melissa & Doug Chef's Kitchen Playset £149.99

This ultra-modern kitchen features a real ice cube maker, as well as a model fridge/freezer, an oven and a dishwasher. The microwave has a turning plate and the sink has a moving tap and a handle.

9. Nerf Nitro Motorfury Rapid Rally £44 (RRP £49.99)

The MotoFury Rapid Rally set comes with nine toy cars, three of which are exclusive to this set only. It also includes a high-jump ramp, as well as a long-jump ramp and 12 obstacles.

10. Elf on the Shelf Letters to Santa £24.95
