If you've been daydreaming about daffodils, delicious chocolate eggs, fluffy chicks and the long Bank Holiday weekend, never fear — Easter is not too far away.

Easter weekend is the first public holiday in the UK each year, and most people can enjoy not one but two days off work.

This year Easter weekend falls from Friday March 25 to Monday March 28.

The dates of the Easter weekend change every year, but Easter Sunday always falls between March 22 and April 25, within around seven days of the astronomical full moon.

Easter usually comes at the start or in the middle of the two-week Easter school holidays — this year, schools break up on Thursday March 24 (as Friday is a Bank Holiday) and return on Monday April 11.

If children have been good they might get a visit from the Easter Bunny!

There's also egg hunts, Easter fairs and (hopefully) the warmer Spring weather to look forward to.
