At last, it's the weekend!

Here's our pick of three events going on in and around Huddersfield today:

Enjoy tasty treats at Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival - Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival is taking place this weekend, with a myriad of local producers, food stalls, entertainment and competitions. This year's event hopes to be a celebration of food and cooking, with a wide range of cuisines on store, from Mediterranean and Maylaysian foods to locally made jams, pickles and chutneys and even camel and ostrich burgers. Here's what to expect from the weekend's festivities.
  2. Head down to Batley Festival - Back for a third year, Batley Festival sees the market square, town hall, library and memorial gardens taken over with all kinds of entertainment, from live music to drama, puppetry to crafts and this year, there'll also be WW1 commemorative projects. The festival is free to attend and takes place from 11am-4pm.

  3. Explore Dewsbury's canal network - Fancy some fresh air? Why not join the Nature Walk and Canal Trip in Dewsbury today? Meeting in the car park at Savile Town Wharf at 10am, the 1.5hr free walk explores the canal network and the creatures that live there.
