Ale lovers will be in for a treat in the Colne Valley when a popular beer festival returns to celebrate its 30th anniversary and raise money for a Linthwaite-based charity.

Hundreds of people are expected to flock to the Moonraker Beer Festival at Slaithwaite Conservative Club from this Thursday to Saturday, to sample some of the 32 ales that will be available.

Starting at 6pm on Thursday it will run until 11pm that night and the same time on Friday but on Saturday will be open from noon to 11pm.

They will be raising money for Linthwaite-based Ruddi’s Retreat which supports families and their children when suffering with cancer or other serious illnesses and local Lions groups. They hope to pass the £50,000 barrier for the 30 festivals they’ve held.

Live Irish folk band, Whisky in the Jar, will also take the stage on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Entry costs £2.50 on November 13 and 14 and £3.50 the following day.
