We'll you're spoilt for choice in West Yorkshire - from Mozart to war-inspired art, there's plenty going on.

At a loose end? Here's three things you can do today:

  1. Be moved by Gillian Lee Smith's latest artwork - Take a trip down to the Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge for We All Cast Shadows , a moving exhibition inspired by tales of women left husbandless during the war. The series of paintings explores the fishing and mining communities that came together to help each other survive during uncertain times, raising children while the men are away from home. A preview will be held at the gallery tonight, 6pm-9pm. Invitations are available from the gallery .
  2. Laugh your head off in Leeds - Leeds LaughterFEST is in full swing across the city, and on Thursday night you can enjoy Well Sketch!Eeee at the Hi Fi Club, in Central Road, at 7pm. The comedy set will be headlined by rap improv duo Abandoman, presenting Hot Desk, with support from, Mickey P Kerr and Friz Frizzle. Tickets cost £15 on the door.

  3. Enjoy Mozart's Requiem with Opera North - If you enjoy classical music, don't miss Mozart's Requiem being performed by the orchestra and chorus of Opera North at Huddersfield Town Hall this evening. In the opening concert of the Huddersfield season, the chorus and orchestra will be conducted by maestro Jac van Steen. The show begins at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8-£24 - click here to book.
