AN army of local talent, led by Honley Ladies Choir, will be on show over two nights next week at Honley High School.

After the huge success of a pair of Honley Does Christmas concerts last year the musical community of this Holme Valley village is getting together to do it all over again.

“I didn’t know quite what I was letting myself in for last year when these two crazy women from the choir came to talk to me about doing a community concert,” said Leigh Baker, Head of Creative and Expressive Arts at the High School.

“But we worked well together and were inundated by performers eager to take part.

“To fit them all in it became a two night extravaganza.

“All the local schools and lots of different local groups made it a very special Honley event so we are keen to do it again.”

And that is exactly what they will do next week.

In Honley Does Christmas… Again! the village’s Ladies Choir will be joined by Honley Band, the Junior School, High School, the Honley Male Voice Choir, the Singing in t’ Valley Choir, saxophone and clarinet groups as well as ensembles and soloists of a very high calibre from the High School: the X factor is alive, well and thriving in Honley!

Both concerts are at Honley High School, on Wednesday and Thursday, December 19, and 20 at 7.15pm.

Tickets from 01484 307189 or the groups taking part.
