HUDDERSFIELD Photo-Imaging Club’s annual exhibition has opened at Huddersfield Art Gallery and there is plenty of interesting work on view, both in the competitive and non-competitive sections of the show.

Among the pictures I enjoyed were Gill Brears’ One Morning at Whitby, Barry Jackson’s Staithes Harbour and Alan Kitson’s It’s Behind You (Sophie Ryder’s giant rabbit at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park).

David Langrick found a very pretty girl for his trophy-winning portrait, Carrie.

In another author’s panel section, Alex Brookes effectively caught The Light of Spurn Pont. Christine Hodgson’s fascinating Human Form was beautifully photographed with its Manikin, Curves, Outline and Innocence.

Barbara Heaton used modern technology to scan and improve four old Edwardian glass plates and Alan Stopher found some admirably colourful material with his Cuban Steam Locomotives in Havana.

The exhibition, which runs till March 28, also has a splendid continuous display of colour slides.
