IT’S spring which means lighter evenings and even more incentive to get out and support your local theatre.

And Honley Players are certainly that. This long established group remains part of the fabric of the Honley village community and next week sees it back in action on stage.

The company’s new show is a farcical mystery or should that be a mystical farce?

Apparently this is just one of the questions to be answered in John Chapman’s rather oddly named Death By Fatal Murder. Well you’d think murder would be. Fatal.

So there’s the drift then of what should make you laugh and perhaps ponder about the odd characters and even stranger goings-on in this latest production.

The show opens at the company’s headquarters at Southgate theatre on Wednesday, April 24, where performances run each evening at 7.30pm until Saturday.

The play is directed by Marion Feather and the cast includes some long established company members including Peter French and Andrea Gosslin.

The play is set in a creepy old house, there’s a missing police constable and mysterious knocking sounds heard by Blodwyn, the mystic from Aberystwyth.

Now do you see why it’s either a mystical farce or a farcical mystery? And who dunnit is another question altogether!

Tickets are available on the door.
