A CLASSIC film is to be shown to raise cash for charity.
The special showing of 1978 hit Grease will be at the Rex cinema in Elland.
The screening starts at 2.30pm.
The film stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton John.
The screening is in aid of the Mayor of Calderdale’s charity, The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, and tickets are £5 for all.
The trust aims to build, equip and run a specialist hospice for children suffering from life-threatening conditions and to provide respite care for them in the Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield areas.
A site has been found at Brackenhall.
The Rex’s resident organist, Mildred Sutcliffe, will play before the show and during the interval, and there will be a raffle to boost the appeal.
Rex owner Charles Morris said: “The mayor has been very supportive of the cinema for as long as we have been here.
“We are very glad to be able to assist his cause in this way. People coming to the show are assured of a good afternoon’s entertainment and will be assisting an extremely worthwhile charity in the process.”
Tickets are available from the cinema during opening hours.
