IT IS a chance for young people to develop their passion for theatre and drama, see upcoming shows and even perform on the Lawrence Batley Theatre stage.

The Creative Skills group, runs weekly at the LBT in Huddersfield on Thursdays.

The theatre offers the two hour sessions as part of its Youth Theatre.

There is no audition and the sessions are open to all no matter their level of experience.

It is a way for young people to learn basic drama skills in a fun and informal way developing confidence, learning techniques and exploring themes through games and exercises.

As the term progresses, the LBT’s team of tutors will help the participants to create their own show which will be performed to their peers and parents.

Throughout the year Creative Skills’ members will get to see shows on the LBT stage, study a wide variety of plays and devise their own work.

There’s also the opportunity to audition and perform in the LBT’s main stage production this summer.
