THE enchanted tale of Sleeping Beauty is coming to a stage near you.

But directors are hoping to find a star or two to appear in the classic children’s tale.

Pantomime preparations have begun at Halifax’s Victoria Theatre and on Sunday, September 12, producers Imagine Theatre will be in town to hold the open chorus auditions for this year’s magical production of Sleeping Beauty.

Children with star quality between the ages of eight and 16 are being invited to tread the boards and audition at the Victoria Theatre from 10am to show off their fancy footwork.

Those interested in auditioning should arrive at the Fountain Street theatre at 9.45am for a 10am start wearing comfortable clothing and shoes suitable to move and dance in.

Auditionees must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian who will be requested to wait throughout the audition process.

The show runs from Saturday, December 11 to Sunday, January 2 and stars Halifax’s own Neil Hurst (Buttons in Cinderella 2009) as Josh the Jester and Tom Milner, of BBC1 TV hit Waterloo Road fame as Prince Valiant.
