Good afternoon.

TRAVEL

Hello again

Hi again, sorry about the delay. I’ve had technical problems this afternoon again.

WEATHER

As long as I’ve got sunshine, that’s all that matters

HELLO

Hi everyone, I’ll be with you for the next couple of hours

Hands off HRI

Kirklees Council has followed up on its promise to oppose changes to Huddersfield hospital care. A letter has been sent to Jeremy Hunt requesting a meeting to discuss the plans to move A&E to Halifax and demolish the infirmary. You can read it yourself here.

That’s all from me - Chloe is in the hotseat next.

M62

I’m just loooking at the motorway incidents log and there’s none on the M62! Nothing all the way from Hull to Liverpool.

The only incident in all of West Yorkshire is jams on the Bradford ring road at Laisterdyke due to roadworks - I think that’s for the new cycling super-highway.

If you’re seeking fame or just want a bit of fun in the sun then maybe you could follow in the footsteps of Huddersfield’s Max Morley and get on to ITV’s Love Island?

News

Rural volunteer firefighters could now be the first people to try and give first aid. A new scheme to mobilise crews from Skelmanthorpe fire station has been launched. Ambulances will be dispatched at the same time but it is hoped that medically trained firefighters will be able to act as first responders and get crucial first aid to people before paramedics arrive.

News

Were you caught up in the jams after the M62 was closed yesterday? Hospital campaigners say the frequent issues on the motorway between Huddersfield and Halifax are reason enough to keep the two towns’ with an A&E each.

Weather

Paul Stevens has spoken...it will be dry, sunny and cold for most of this week. My second favourite weather after dry, sunny and warm!

News

Police have taken another dodgy driver off the road. This one in Birkby had the ‘Holy Trinity’ - no licence, no insurance and no tax! And to top if off no MOT on the car either.
