This shocking video shows two petty drivers fighting to merge into lane in an aggressive stand-off.

Dashcam footage has been shared on social media of a Ford Mondeo driver trying to get into a lane a Peugeot 206 driver continuously blocks.

The incident, which took place on Calderdale Way in Halifax, lasts for half a mile.

Reports of a stabbing in Cowlersley

There have been reports of a stabbing in Cowlersley.

Residents have said the air ambulance and police are in Kinder Avenue following an incident at about 4pm.

The road ambulance is also at the scene.

Delays at rail and bus interchange due to fire

Body found in West Yorkshire park

The body of a man has been found at a park in Leeds.

Police were called to Middleton Park in the Middleton area around 11am today. A police cordon is now in place.

The circumstances are not thought to be suspicious and a post-mortem is due to take place later this week.

Temporary traffic lights and roadkworks

  • There will be temporary traffic lights and roadworks and temporary traffic lights on Lockwood Scar at Enoch Lane until October 16.
  • There will be temporary traffic lights and gas main work on A640 Trinity Street near Edgerton Grove Road/Gledholt Road (Gledholt Roundabout). They’ll be in place until November 27.

Queues on M62 westbound

There’s queueing traffic on the M62 westbound between junction 28 and 27.

It’s due to a tyre change on a lorry this morning. Highways England have now removed the tyre from the carriageway.

I almost cried with laughter at the photos.

Fifth man charged over West Yorkshire murder

A fifth man has appeared in court charged over the murder of a man in Leeds earlier this year.

Cornelia Benjamin, 21, has been charged with the murder of Raheem Wilks in Harehills on January 26.

He was arrested on Thursday last week.

He appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Friday and then at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

He was remanded in custody pending trial alongside four other men who have previously been charged with murder.

The trial will begin on October 16.

Politics - PLAN TO CURB EU MIGRATION SPARKS NEW BREXIT TURMOIL - Proposals to force a post-Brexit cut in low-skilled migrants from the continent have ignited a political row on the eve of an explosive Commons battle over EU withdrawal. A leaked Home Office document outlining ways to restrict immigration heightened the political temperature over Brexit after Labour insisted it would vote against the EU (Withdrawal) Bill, which gets its second reading in Parliament on Thursday, and pro-Europe Tory MPs threatened to back amendments to the landmark legislation.

Courts - FIVE MEN DUE IN COURT ON CHARGES FOLLOWING HILLSBOROUGH DISASTER INVESTIGATION - Five men charged following an investigation into the Hillsborough disaster and its aftermath are due to appear in a crown court for the first time later today. Former West Yorkshire and Merseyside chief constable Sir Norman Bettison, 61, is expected to appear at Preston Crown Court along with fellow retired police officers Donald Denton, 79, and Alan Foster, 70, former Sheffield Wednesday club secretary Graham Mackrell, 67, and solicitor Peter Metcalf, 67, who acted for South Yorkshire Police following the 1989 disaster.

US - PROTEST FURY AS TRUMP DISMANTLES YOUNG IMMIGRANT PROGRAMME - Thousands of people have taken to the streets throughout America to protest against Donald Trump’s decision to axe an immigration programme protecting those brought to the United States illegally as children. Demonstrators in Los Angeles held posters, chanting “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go” and “Our communities are under attack. What do we do? Stand up. Fight back”.

Teen arrested after police helicopter chase

A teenager has been arrested after a police helicopter chase.

The 17-year-old was caught after a car chase lasting less than 15 minutes on Monday night.

A Toyota Yaris was stolen in a robbery in the Ravensthorpe Shopping Park car park. Shortly after 10.45pm, the car failed to stop for officers in Town Street, Batley.

A pursuit ensued, with the vehicle coming to a stop in RedLaithes Lane in Ravensthorpe and the driver running from the vehicle.

Shortly after 11pm, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of robbery, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

A 20-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the offence at Ravensthorpe Shopping Park. Both remain in custody.

Fire in Cleckheaton

Firefighters put out a kitchen fire in Cleckheaton in the early hours of this morning.

They were called to the fire in Broomfield Terrace around 4.30am.

The two people at home had already evacuated themselves and were not injured.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatuses, a hose reel and a fan to clear smoke from the kitchen.

Crew commander Andy Pullan said an electric appliance in a drawer had started the fire.

He added that there was smoke damage to the kitchen, but luckily only the drawer was damaged by the fire.

M62 congestion to junction 21

As reported earlier, traffic is slow on the M62 westbound between junction 19 for Heywood and junction 18 for the M60/M66.

The congestion is now to junction 21.

There are delays of 30 minutes.

Missing females found safe and well

Two females in Leeds who were reported missing have been found safe and well.

Cybil Stanley, 82, and Karly Maltas, 12, have both been found, police have reported.

Cybil had went missing from Harehills yesterday and Karly had went missing from Armley on Monday.

John Motson to leave BBC after 50 years

Legendary commentator John Motson, 72, will leave the BBC at the end of the football season after a 50 year association with the broadcaster.

Traffic update

Avoid the M62...

There’s very slow traffic in the following places this morning:

  • M62 westbound between junction 19 for Heywood and junction 18 for the M60/M66 due to earlier lorry tyre change. One lane was closed until 8am but has since been reopened.
  • A58 Whitehall Road at A641 Huddersfield Road (Hellfire Crossroads).
  • A629 Huddersfield Road Northbound at A6026 Wakefield Road/B6112 Stainland Road.
  • A629 New North Road westbound at A62 Castlegate.

There’s also the usual congestion on A629 Halifax Road into town from A643 Brighouse Road (Ainley Top) to Blacker Road (Edgerton Cemetery).
