From Calderdale to catwalk Brighouse hairstylist Annabelle Taylor has been mixing with fashion royalty.

The stylist, who works at Edward &Co in Bradford Road, was on hand at London Fashion Week to style, spray and groom the models backstage.

And her handiwork was even featured on the Vogue magazine website.

The 20-year-old was given the incredible opportunity by hair product company Schwarzkopf as part of her training on their Young Artistic Team.

Annabelle assisted top London salon Easton Regal in perfecting the models’ hair for Jasper Garvida’s Ethologie Autumn Winter 2016 catwalk show.

The trainee stylist said: “It was such an amazing and fast-paced day.

“I enjoyed every single minute and we really pulled together as a team.

“We quickly realised each other’s strengths and weaknesses and determined the best way for us to work together efficiently.”

Annabelle and the other trainee stylists were given just 90 minutes to style and perfect the hair of 15 models while they dashed between dress rehearsals for the Covent Garden show.

She added: “It was a crazy day!”

Annabelle said she put models’ hair into tight ponytails before crimping the hair, a popular 90s style currently seeing a comeback.

Following an intense judging process at London’s ASK Academy, Annabelle won a place on the prestigious Schwarzkopf scheme in January.

Young stylists were judged live on their cutting and styling skills, as well as their ability to work in a team.

The scheme is open to budding hair stylists under the age of 25.

Annabelle added: “I’m thrilled to be part of something so exciting and I don’t think it has sunk in yet. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store”

A spokesman for Edward & Co said on their Facebook page: “We’d just like to thank everyone on the behalf of Annabelle and the whole of Edward & Co for all your kind wishes and congratulations.

“It’s made her so proud seeing the support from all of our clients.”
