A flood warning is in place for the River Calder after torrential downpours.

Some flooding has been seen in the Hebden Bridge area and sirens have been heard across the region.

Flood Aware have also warned any residents in the River Calder area of Hebden Bridge, Mythom and Hebble End with a flood plan to put it into action.

They said: "We are expecting levels to continue to rise rapidly into the evening

"If you have a flood plan please put this into action."

The Ghostbusters Stay Puft marshmallow man remained standing in the strong winds outside the Huddersfield Haunting convention, at Kirklees College, this afternoon.

River Calder levels falls to safe volume in the Upper Calder Valley

From the Environment Agency: “No significant rainfall is expected for the rest of the day. The level of River Calder has fallen below level of concerns and will not cause any further flooding of property.

“Please be aware that there may still be standing water and debris around so remain aware of your surroundings when in this area.”

Todmorden homes and Hebden Bridge pub flooded

Several houses in Todmorden and a public house in Hebden Bridge flooded last night.

Approximately a dozen firefighters, as well as the station managers, were tackling floods across Calderdale from 6.30pm until midnight.

Todmorden Fire Station’s pump went to the market town.

Several pumps from Mytholmroyd Fire Station and even one from Illingworth Fire Station went to Hebden Bridge.
