Police are appealing to trace a Huddersfield man who is wanted for offences including assault and attempted robbery.

And they have taken the unusual step of naming him.

Officers wish to speak to 20-year-old Robert Roche in connection with a serious assault in Huddersfield on April 30 an attempted robbery in Skelmanthorpe on May 28 and two offences of using threatening behaviour in May.

Roche is described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall, of proportionate build, with brown hair which he has recently had cut closer at the sides and fair on top.

He is known to frequent the Skelmanthorpe, Denby Dale and Crosland Moor areas.

Det Insp Andy Leonard, of Kirklees District CID, said: “We have been actively seeking Mr Roche for questioning in connection with these offences but at this stage have not been able to locate him.

“If you have information but for whatever reason don’t want to speak to police directly then you can give information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
