Huddersfield will become part of Tour de France history on Sunday July 6.

The iconic bike race will come through the town centre, Honley , Thongsbridge , Holmfirth and will snake up Holme Moss as part of stage two of this year's event.           

The cyclists will set off from York at approximately 11.20am on the Sunday, following the spectacle of the Tour de France caravan.

Stage two of the race ends in Sheffield, with racers expected to complete the route between 4pm and 5pm.

Spectators in Huddersfield will catch their first glimpse of the caravan from 12.35pm as it makes its way from Greetland in Calderdale to Huddersfield via the A629.

It will reach the A62 at around 12.45pm before making its way through the Honley section of the route from 12:52pm.

It is estimated to reach Thongsbridge at 12.57pm, Holmfirth at 12.59pm, Holmbridge at 1.03pm before making its way up Holme Moss from 1.07pm.

Following the caravan, the cyclists are due to reach Huddersfield from Greetland from 2.18pm, making their way through the city centre route before racing through Honley.

The racers will reach Honley at around 2.30pm, following the route to Thongsbridge by 2.36pm.

Crowds in Holmfirth should see the stage leaders arrive in the village at around 2.38pm, making their way to Holme by 2.44pm.

The cyclists are due to wind their way up the iconic Holme Moss by 2.49pm before continuing to Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
