Jamie Paterson is pulling out all the stops in training.

Huddersfield Town’s on-loan Nottingham Forest forward knows there is a place available to face Middlesbrough at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday because of Harry Bunn’s suspension and Mustapha Carayol being unavailable against his parent club.

The 23-year-old is fit again after a hamstring problem kept him out of the last home game against Leeds United.

He trained ahead of last Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

But head coach David Wagner said he hadn’t completed enough sessions to be considered.

The same thinking was applied to on-loan Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell and striker James Vaughan, who has had a couple of niggly issues.

He made appearances from the bench against both Reading and Leeds.

Vaughan’s fellow frontman Ishmael Miller is working with Town’s physio staff as he tries to beat a groin injury.

Defender Joel Lynch (hamstring) and midfielder Phil Billing (ankle) remain sidelined.

Paterson has made three starts and four appearances from the bench since joining on a season-long loan on the last day of the transfer window.

The former Walsall man has scored twice – against MK Dons and Reading.
