Record signing Christopher Schindler can’t wait to kick a football with his new Huddersfield Town teammates on Friday.
The 26-year-old defender from 1860 Munich trains at PPG Canalside for the first time as the most expensive player in Town history – £1.8m.
That figure – understood to be a conversion of 2.2m Euros – will be the furthest thing from his mind, however, when head coach David Wagner gathers his players for the first time at the training ground.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Schindler, who arrived on a three-year deal as Joel Lynch signed a £1.5m-package move to QPR.
“It was a pity I couldn’t go on the trip to Sweden – there were some problems dealing with the contract – because that would have been great.
“I know it would have been a great experience to get to know my new teammates but, now, a few days further on, we have pre-season to get to know each other and I’m really looking forward to it.”
