Paul Anderson is hoping the return of Anthony Mullally will help shake up the Giants Super League pack and get them back to their explosive best.

The Huddersfield chief has recalled the 22-year-old Ireland World Cup prop from his loan spell at Bradford Bulls and confirmed he’ll play at Salford City Reds tomorrow (6.00).

Mullally’s inclusion could be one of several changes made to the side beaten 30-6 at Hull FC seven days ago, with England centre Leroy Cudjoe (ankle) and Larne Patrick (knee) having both proved their fitness in training this week following injury.

But Anderson feels the re-emergence on the scene of Mullally could provide the vital spark for a Giants pack that’s been mis-firing.

“It’s obvious our middle needs shaking up a bit, and Mull can help us do that,” said Anderson.

“He knows he’s been brought back here to play, which is exactly what’ll he’ll be doing tomorrow.

“The reason he went out on loan to Bradford at the start of the season was because he wasn’t getting into our team.

“But now he has the opportunity to play, because some of his teammates aren’t doing the right thing. Tomorrow is his chance to prove he should be playing for us again.

“We’ve watched what he’s been doing at Bradford, and it’s clear he’s benefiting from playing a fair amount of gametime there.

“What he’s doing is carrying the ball, finding his front and going forward. That’s obviously what we need him to do for us.

“He knows this is a great opportunity for him.”

And Anderson has also hinted Cudjoe and Patrick could feature at the AJ Bell Stadium, particularly as the duo are both included in the Giants’ 19-man squad.

“They’re both fully fit and available,” added Anderson. “They’ve trained with no ill-effects all week, which is very positive news.”
