There are few simple pleasures more enjoyable than a good pint, outside a good pub in good weather.
And as it's pretty warm and dry at the moment we thought we'd give you a list of the best pubs with beer gardens in Huddersfield to enjoy that simple pleasure.
Whether you fancy a jar of real ale, a schooner of craft beer, a flute of prosecco or just a plain pint of lager there are a plenty of pubs where you can enjoy one outdoors.
We've included town centre taverns as well as suburban pubs and country inns so if you prefer the conviviality of a busy bar or the quiet of a rural local there's bound to be something to suit you nearby.
Most of these venues serve real ale and some even brew their own tasty beers.
Plus it's not all about the drinks; many of these pubs are also renowned for their food.

Beer gardens for hot days in Huddersfield:
Bar Maroc, Huddersfield town centreFor a different beer garden experience, try the rooftop terrace at Bar Maroc in New Street. The cosy bar has colourful Moroccan furnishings and is known for its homemade pizzas.
The Bridge, Longroyd Bridge
This venue just outside Huddersfield town centre has a beer garden overlooking the River Colne. It serves regular guest real ales and is a great spot for live music.
The Dusty Miller, Longwood
This real ale pub, refurbished by Milltown Brewing Co, showcases the brewery's range of beers as well as ales from across the region. The pub also hosts live music and has a dog-friendly beer garden.
The Fieldhead, Quarmby
As well as a beer garden with fabulous views across Colne Valley, The Fieldhead also has a good range of beers and ales.
The Golden Cock, Farnley Tyas
Enjoy cask ales, wine and champagne as well as al fresco dining at The Golden Cock. The country pub also offers afternoon tea alongside traditional pub grub.
The Grove, Huddersfield
The Grove offers live music, 'meet the brewers' events and also hosts regular BBQs from Sav's BBQ Pit. The cosy beer garden is the perfect place to try a beer from its extensive ale and lager menu.
Jacob's Well, Honley
Another beer garden offering superb views, Jacob's Well is nestled between Honley and Holmfirth and close to Holme Valley reservoir walks. The pub serves ales, wine and bottled beers from around the world, as well as traditional pub fayre from locally sourced ingredients.
The Nook, Holmfirth
The brewery tap for The Nook Brewhouse, this Holmfirth pub offers the chance to try once of its ales just yards from where it was brewed. The Nook also boasts a riverside patio and beer garden, which hosts beer festivals at Easter and over the August bank holiday weekend.
The Parish, Huddersfield town centre
Huddersfield town centre isn't the greatest for outdoor drinking spots but The Parish's beer garden is a decent sun trap in the summer. Both the ale and food are decent and it's the place for live rock and metal music.
The Pear Tree Inn, Mirfield
Enjoy a pint in a pretty beer garden by the River Calder in Mirfield. The gastropub has an outside bar and stocks a range of cask ales — you don't even have to go indoors to get a round in!
Revolution, Huddersfield town centre
What better place to soak up the sun than on a stylish roof terrace? Revolution's 'secret garden' is an excellent spot to enjoy cocktails, a bite to eat or a cold beer overlooking the town centre.
The Riverhead, Marsden
This is quite simply one of the best pubs in Huddersfield, particularly on a hot day. Enjoy some of The Riverhead's fine home cooked food and real ale, brewed on site, while your young ones can feed the ducks in the shallows of the adjacent Colne river.
The Rising Sun, Crosland Hill
With a beer garden described as a 'hidden gem' by Whatpub.com, the Rising Sun in Crosland Hill offers ample outdoor space for a nice cold pint on a sunny day. The pub serves Cask Marque accredited real ales, and hosts live music, pub quizzes and screens football matches.
Rose and Crown, Cop Hill, Slaithwaite
Perched above Colne Valley this classic rural pub serves real ale and decent home cooked food. It has a large outdoor area which your kids can tear around as you take in the views across the Colne Valley.
The Roundhill Inn, Rastrick
As its name suggests, the pub is right in front of the natural landmark between Halifax and Huddersfield. It serves real ales from Yorkshire and beyond and offers views across West Yorkshire.
Sands House, Crosland Hill
Sands House is great for families, with a children's play area alongside its scenic beer garden. The pub serves bar snacks and sandwiches as well as pub grub and handmade stone baked pizzas. It boasts an extensive wine list as well as a host of real ales.
The Ship Inn, Mirfield
A popular pub for families and with good reason, the Ship has large outdoor and indoor playgrounds.
Travellers Rest, Meltham
Local brewery Milltown reopened this country pub in 2017 following an extensive refurbishment. The sister pub of the Dusty Miller (see above) has an outdoor area with superb Pennine views and street food from visiting vendors
Wills O'Nats, Meltham
This Meltham boozer had a role in series two of Happy Valley — and Examiner reader Debbie Luty said it has 'the best beer garden and view in good weather'. Situated in the foothills of the Pennines, close to Blackmoorfoot Reservoir, the pub offers a scenic view on a sunny day.
