A fashion star in the making is celebrating after providing the clothing designs for one of RnB's biggest stars.
Corey Thompson, 22, of Lepton, said it was a “surreal” experience to be woken up one morning and told her ideas were going to be used on Chris Brown’s latest video release, New Flame.
The former King James’ School student said she had to pinch herself when the news came through.
Brown is one of the biggest RnB stars on the planet - and has also received widespread criticism following his abusive relationship with Rihanna and subsequent domestic violence prosecution. The pair briefly reconciled before splitting up again in 2013.
Brown's New Flame music video features an outfit from Corey’s collection, Aloysius, and has given her a huge boost as she seeks to become a men’s top fashion designer.

She was also brought to the attention of stylist and jewellery designer David Thomas who lives in Los Angeles.
Andrea Pieri, of the cutting edge Pieri Twins music website which scouted her at a recent elite graduate fashion show, said: “So proud of Corey Thompson! Really happy to have introduced her amazing designs to David Thomas.
“Chris Brown looks like fiyah, (hot), total look by Corey in his new music video! Good job team!”
In a blog the Twins say: “It was all about fluidity, oversized silhouettes and long layers of light fabrics impeccably draped around the body at the UCA Rochester graduate Corey Thompson‘s runway show.
“With heavy sportswear influences, the looks were accentuated with a face mask, projecting a certain amount of mysterious authority and toughness, all wrapped up in a monochromatic palette of blacks and whites.
“It creates an urban atmosphere that combines the sobriety and luxury of contemporary wear with the functionality of sportswear.”
Corey, who has graduated with a First Class degree from the University of Creative Arts in Kent, said: “OMG, huge thank you to Those Pieri Twins. Can’t ask for any more, overwhelmed with the reality of Chris Brown wearing MY collection.”
She got the break after the Twins got in touch with her and wrote an article. The next thing was Thomas, a fashion industry insider, got in touch through the Twins and sent Corey his FedEx details so they could pick items for the glamorous Chris Brown shoot.
Corey said: “It’s pretty cool. My friend, Tom, woke me up in the morning and said I’d better check my Instagram. It was unreal, completely unreal.
“To come from an environment like Yorkshire and to see your ideas decked out in a video with Chris Brown from LA was surreal.”
And her friend and neighbour, Amanda Senior, 47, of Willowfields, Lepton, said: “Corey is awe-inspiring and we are all very proud of what she has achieved so far.”
