Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

That was certainly the case last time Town headed to Blackpool.

Second-half goals by James Vaughan and Ollie Norwood sealed an impressive win in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Lee Novak’s opener had been cancelled out by former Town man Gary Taylor-Fletcher, leaving the match nicely poised at half-time.

Town’s travelling faithful, and another top turn-out of more than 1,650 will head to the West coast resort, will clearly be keen to see Vaughan again start this time.

His injury problems mean there has been little chance to see the 12-goal top scorer operating alongside Nahki Wells.

In only two of the 12 games for which Wells has been available since his Town-record £1.3m move from Bradford City have both men featured from the kick-off.

Town have 10 games to – Middlesbrough visit on Tuesday with a trip to Reading to come next Saturday – and it would be good to see Vaughan stay fit and play in them all.

It would also be good to see him get back to the level he reached in the opening stages of the campaign, before a suspension, then fitness problems, kicked in.

Wells, having taken some time to adjust to his new surroundings, has been bright in recent matches.

His goal against Blackburn was both welcome and well executed, and now’s the time for him to add to his season’s haul of three for Town and 15 for Bradford.

On paper, the trip to Blackpool looks an ideal chance to chalk up a fifth away win.

But it’s seldom that straightforward, and while the Tangerines’ record in 2014 is pretty dire, the suggestions are there has been an improvement in recent games, particularly on home turf.

Caretaker boss Barry Ferguson’s squad is heavy on loan players, but he has some quality and experience to call on.

Crystal Palace’s Stephen Dobbie, Millwall’s Andy Keogh and Blackburn’s David Goodwillie, a former teammate of Town defender Paul Dixon at Dundee United, could all cause problems and a tighter defensive display is a must after Town’s 4-2 home loss to Blackburn.

Jordan Rhodes enjoyed a field day against his former club, and hopefully Town trio Peter Clarke, Adam Hammill and Keith Southern will enjoy a successful return to an old stomping ground.
