Chris Powell said sorry for giving Huddersfield Town fans a scare and called on his team to play for the full 90 minutes.

The manager was delighted to clinch another win, 4-2 at home to Blackpool, but worried at conceding two quickfire goals.

That meant his side, three up after only 16 minutes, had to defend a 3-2 lead going into the second half, when Jacob Butterfield’s goal sealed victory.

“We really went for the jugular early on, which was great, but we have to carry on doing it,” said Powell, whose side are up to 17th in the Championship ahead of the visit of Brighton tomorrow.

“We gave the fans a real scare.

“While it was disappointing to concede one goal, I would have taken 3-1 at half-time, but to switch off and let them get a second is a concern.

“Top sides keep going for the full 90 minutes and we must work towards doing that.”
