Fighting breaks out at Salford Devils v Huddersfield Giants
Trouble broke out among Salford Red Devils supporters after their team narrowly beat Huddersfield Giants.
One steward is thought to have been injured in the fracas shortly after the game at the John Smith’s Stadium finished 26-24.
It happened as the Salford players went over to applaud their fans.
Thundersnow on the M62
Early in March one of our reports spotted an unusual flash of lightning during a heavy snowstorm.
It's called thundersnow, and as you may have guessed, is snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Our reporter Dave Himelfield saw a flash of lightning on his drive along the M62 this morning — see for yourself in our video at eight seconds in!
Kebabish owner says rat video was set-up
More than 10,000 people watched this shocking footage of a rat scurrying across Kebabish in Huddersfield town centre.
But the boss of Kebabish smelled a rat. Owner Mohammed Akram, 44, said the shock footage was a set-up aimed at damaging his business.
Chloe Glover reports: Body of Hamza Amer found in canal
The body of teenager Hamza Amer was tragically found in the Huddersfield Broad Canal at Vine Street on March 18. A member of the public made the grim find just before 7.40am. Mr Amer, who only turned 19 in November, was from Springfield Avenue in Batley . Our reporter Chloe Glover reported the sad news on the day.
Selfish M62 driver
No one likes motorway traffic — but we'd like to think most drivers would not be this inconsiderate.
A selfish driver was caught on dashcam weaving in and out of the hard shoulder to avoid tailbacks after a serious crash on the M62 on March 4 — while this driver was hogging the emergency lane, the air ambulance was attending a crash westbound between J23 at Outlane and J22 at Rishworth.
Body found by canal in Ravensthorpe
Police launched a major investigation after a body was found in Ravensthorpe last month.
The body was in a wooded area close to the banks of the River Calder, a few yards from its confluence with the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal.
The man's body has yet to be identified and police have since released images of his clothing.
Birkby horror crash left woman fighting for her life
Eight people were involved in a serious car crash on March 17. Several had to be cut out of two cars which collided with each other on St John’s Road, Birkby, with the junction of Blacker Road.
Two women were rushed to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance crews with multiple injuries, while another three people were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.
First look at new Miller & Carter steakhouse
The Three Nuns pub in Mirfield reopened as a Miller & Carter steakhouse in March, and we went down to have a nosy.
The new restaurant — which opened on April 1 — reported some spooky goings on during the pub's renovation.
General manager Helen Willis said while some of the odd happenings may have a rational explanantion others were simply mystifying.
Dangerous undertaking on M62
This is the astonishing scene as a Mercedes went on to the hard shoulder - undertaking THREE vehicles at once on the M62 near Huddersfield.
Dashcam footage shows the driver of the silver car go around a van, a minibus and an HGV.
The astonishing video, taken on the motorway between Saddleworth and Huddersfield, shows a white van indicate before veering from the far right lane into the middle - straight into the path of an oncoming Mercedes.
Town fans celebrate victory against Leeds
Huddersfield beating Leeds was probably the best thing about March for many — with plenty of celebration on the day, as this video shows!
The Terriers scored three times in just nine minutes to stun Leeds United fans into silence and seal a sensational derby victory, and footage emerged of the amazing atmosphere created by Huddersfield fans as they roared their team to victory at Elland Road.
